Jesus – Worshipped as God by Angels and Men

In Scripture, worship belongs only to God. To worship anyone or anything else is considered idolatry.

Exodus 34:14 (KJV):
“For thou shalt worship no other god: for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God.”

Yet, throughout the New Testament, Jesus receives worship — not just once, but repeatedly — and He never refuses it.

🌠 Worshipped at His Birth

Matthew 2:11 (KJV):
“They fell down, and worshipped him…”
The wise men didn’t merely honor Jesus — they worshipped Him as divine.

🌊 Worshipped by His Disciples

After Jesus walked on water and calmed the storm, His disciples responded not with admiration — but with worship.

Matthew 14:33 (KJV):
“Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God.”

They knew only God controls the sea — and they worshipped Him accordingly (see Psalm 89:9).

💥 Worshipped After the Resurrection

Matthew 28:9 (KJV):
“They came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him.”

Even after the resurrection, the risen Jesus received worship as Lord and God.

🔥 Commanded to Be Worshipped by Angels

Hebrews 1:6 (KJV):
“When he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.”

God commands the angels to worship Jesus.
Why? Because He is not a creature — He is Creator and Lord of Heaven.

🙏 Thomas’ Declaration: “My Lord and My God”

John 20:28 (KJV):
“And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.”

Jesus didn’t correct him. He accepted this direct worship.
No angel or prophet would ever allow that.

Compare with:

Revelation 22:8-9 (KJV):
When John fell to worship an angel, the angel said, “See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant… worship God.”

Jesus, unlike any created being, received and welcomed worship, proving His deity.

🔐 Worship in Heaven Belongs to the Lamb

Revelation 5:13-14 (KJV):
“Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb, forever and ever.”
“And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him…”

Jesus — the Lamb — receives the same eternal worship as the Father.
He is not a rival to God — He is God, worthy of equal praise.

Conclusion

In both heaven and earth, Jesus is worshipped — something only God deserves.

  • He was worshipped as a baby,
  • during His ministry,
  • after His resurrection,
  • and for eternity in heaven.

🛐 Worship proves divinity — and Jesus is worshipped by angels and men alike.
