Jesus – The Creator of All Things

One of the clearest revelations of Jesus’ divine identity in the Bible is that He is the Creator. Scripture does not merely call Jesus a teacher, prophet, or healer — it reveals Him as the originator of all creation. This truth is rooted both in the Old Testament and powerfully affirmed in the New Testament.

The Beginning of All Creation

Genesis 1:1 (KJV):
“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.”

The Bible begins with a foundational truth — God created everything. This Creator is none other than Jehovah, the one true God.

Jesus: The Divine Agent of Creation

John 1:1–3 (KJV):
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God… All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made.”

John identifies “the Word” (Greek: Logos) as eternal and divine. In verse 14, John states:

“The Word was made flesh and dwelt among us.”
— showing clearly that Jesus is the Word.

Therefore, Jesus was with God and was God, and He created everything.

Paul Confirms Christ’s Role in Creation

Colossians 1:16–17 (KJV):
“For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth… all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.”

This shows:

  • By Him – Jesus is the active Creator.
  • For Him – All creation exists for His glory.
  • By Him all things consist – Jesus sustains all creation, moment by moment.

Jesus and Jehovah: One and the Same Creator

The Old Testament attributes creation to Jehovah:

Isaiah 44:24:
“I am the LORD that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone…”

The New Testament attributes creation to Jesus.

Conclusion?
Jesus is Jehovah, the Creator of all things.

Why This Matters

Understanding Jesus as the Creator emphasizes His supreme authority, not only over the Church but over the entire universe.

  • He is not a created being — He is eternal, uncreated, and all-powerful.
  • He did not come into existence in Bethlehem — He simply took on flesh to dwell among us (John 1:14).
  • The stars, the galaxies, the earth, our very breath — all are the work of His hands.

Additional Verses to Study

  • Hebrews 1:2,10 – “By whom also He made the worlds… You, Lord, laid the foundation of the earth.”
  • Ephesians 3:9 – “God… created all things by Jesus Christ.”
  • Psalm 102:25-27 – Compared to Hebrews 1, showing Jesus is the unchanging Creator.
  • Revelation 4:11 – Jesus is worshipped for being the Creator of all things.

Final Thought:
Jesus is not just part of creation — He is the source of all creation. The One who hung the stars in the sky is the same One who hung on the cross for our sins. The Creator became our Redeemer, and He deserves all glory.
